Welcome to PIANO LESSONS NEWCASTLE . My name is Kay and here you can find information about my piano teaching practice; students are taught piano from beginners level right up to Diploma in the comfort of their own home, on their own piano provided this is located within commutable distance in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, United Kingdom.
This website also functions as an informative blog about all aspects of my piano teaching – from lesson information, fees, locations covered and qualifications to plenty of practice tips, advice and techniques. I’m a pianist, teacher, writer and music researcher. As a former pupil of Philip Fowke, I have 20+ years experience teaching piano performance and music theory. As well as holding an M.Mus with honours and diplomas from the Royal Irish Academy of Music, and Trinity College London, I worked as an examiner for the Royal Irish Academy of Music. As one of the UK’s most experienced and qualified teachers (I hold a Masters in Music, specialising in Bach and Mozart) and a former columnist for Pianist magazine, I am delighted to bring my expertise and knowledge to children and adults in Newcastle.
This page will tell you everything you need about me, my past experience, lessons and how they are structured, the next term intake, but I hope you also enjoy “Kay’s Piano Blog”, on the right hand side, which will feature essays and articles about all aspects of piano performance and my teaching.
Please get in touch by contacting me here if you are interested in lessons for you or your children, or want to schedule a free consultation lesson. I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have!
Thanks for visiting my website!
Kay Crawford, M.Mus.
